Project Market

In cooperation with a regional partner, the Project Market take places in spring to help filmmakers from the Arab World and Germany find their right team partner for a joint application to the next round of the Film Prize of the Robert Bosch Stiftung.

Directors living in the Arab World (member countries of the Arab League) apply with a project idea, while German producers submit their profile. A selection committee selects the participants.

The Project Market is a useful networking platform for the intercultural exchange, not only between the Arab directors and the German producers but also within the groups.

Project Market Amman

The Project Market Amman is organized in cooperation with the Royal Film Commission – Jordan. The next edition will take place in Amman next June 2020 (exact date tbc).

During five days, a diverse program offers the filmmakers the chance to get to know each other, introduce their work, tackle co-production matters, discuss thoroughly the director’s project and exchange knowledge and experiences. Further joint networking events reinforced potential partnerships.

The call for applications will open early spring (February/March).

The Project Market Amman is an annual project market where filmmakers from the Arab World and producers from Germany can apply individually.

The Project Market Amman offers a platform for exchange and networking in order to find the right team partner for a joint application for the next round of the Film Prize.

The meetings between directors and producers do not necessarily result in a partnership but will enrich their personal experience and extend their network.

If a team is successfully formed, the project dossier must be prepared for the application to the next round of the Film Prize of the Robert Bosch Stiftung.

Eligible to apply for the Project Market Amman are emerging directors being resident in one member country of the Arab League with a film idea in development in the categories short animation, short fiction film, short or feature length documentary, as well as up-and-coming German producers, looking for good stories from this region.

The communication language of the Film Prize program is English. Applicants must have a good command of English and be able to communicate in English.
